Nautical Clubs

Activities, education and training.

Campaign

Since the summer of 2015, the Palma Aquarium Foundation has been working jointly with several nautical clubs in Mallorca, carrying out awareness activities, environmental education and training in rescue and conservation of marine fauna.

By signing these agreements with Nautical Clubs on the island, the Palma Aquarium Foundation provides the Clubs with a marine turtles deposit together with informative signage. The intention is that all the users and workers of the Club are informed about the possession of this deposit where they will be able to lodge a sea turtle in case of finding one during their recreational or professional activity at sea. In this way, the animal has a comfortable place to stay until the arrival of the Palma Aquarium marine fauna rescue team.

And secondly, the Palma Aquarium Foundation undertakes to hold informative talks about the rescue of marine fauna, the identification of the surrounding marine fauna, sea contamination,  impact of fishing on biodiversity … etc., offering these talks to Club workers, users, sailors or children oduroing summer schools, sailing events … etc.

Our intention is to spread awareness as much as possible about the problems suffered by the marine fauna, so that the current and future navigators, our eyes at sea, are aware of this and know how to act to mitigate their own impacts and above all what to do and what not to do in the case of encountering an animal in danger.

Currently the Palma Aquarium Foundation for the Protection of the Environment has signed agreements with the following Clubs:

Volunteers Team

Volunteers are the heart and soul of a non-profit organisation. They are a perfectly coordinated team and without them the organisation would not be able to work.
