The Palma Aquarium Foundation responded to a request from the RMA Mallorca football Academy, who contacted us a couple of months ago. We were very pleased to meet Robert, the manager of the headquarters of this Sports Foundation in the Balearic Islands. Robert is the brother of professional footballer Russell Martin who played internationally in the Premier League and for Scotland and who formed a Foundation that bears his name about 4 years ago in his hometown Brighton to teach, educate and plant values of opportunity, fairness and sustainability among young people.

This philosophy of equitable values has been transferred to Mallorca through his brother Robert Croll. Robert has been doing summer camps and football lessons for 2 years at the Costa de Calviá Paddle and football facilities in Magaluf. The team spirit and the fellowship that is breathed between coaches and students is the result of Robert’s passion for sport and teaching.

Robert Croll, known among the students as Rob, has wanted to take further the fusion of values, extending towards the community the respect and importance of protecting the environment.

On June 15, an environmental day was organized at the football field where the RM Mallorca Academy boys and girls train, to raise awareness, carry out fun environmental educational activities and to raise funds for the Palma Aquarium Foundation projects.

It was a combined action of sport and nature in a festive atmosphere where 585 euros were raised! These funds will go towards buying blood centrifuge for rescued animals and a beach trolley to carry all the material needed to do educational activities on the beach.
